At the Gunwi Living & Culture Center, a regular meeting of the Gunwi County advisory council drew strong participation from members and helped the council record the third-highest attendance nationwide. Members collected a range of views to promote regional development and advance peace on the Korean Peninsula, and pledged to strengthen the council’s policy-advisory role in support of local and national progress.

On the 11th, the Gunwi County chapter of the Advisory Council on Democratic Peaceful Unification convened a regular meeting at the Gunwi Living & Cultural Center under the theme “Domestic and Foreign Policy Directions for Peaceful Coexistence on the Korean Peninsula,” soliciting a wide range of perspectives.
The agenda included an opening ceremony; a review of the results from the fourth 2025 unification opinion-gathering effort; collection of unification views from advisory members; and discussion of the Gunwi County council’s major project plans for 2026. In his opening remarks, Chairman Jeon Gi-sik said, “Since the launch of the 22nd term, thanks to advisory members’ active participation, the Gunwi County council has ranked third nationwide in attendance.” He urged members to continue gathering broad input on North Korea and unification policy and to carry out their policy-advisory duties faithfully.
The meeting served as a forum for the Gunwi County council to shape policy directions that could contribute to local development and to peace on the Korean Peninsula. Attendees offered diverse viewpoints and expressed optimism about future policy initiatives. Council leaders expect these discussions to reinforce the council’s advisory role and to have a positive impact on regional and national development.
Through the session, the council outlined concrete policy directions aimed at supporting the local community and advancing peace on the peninsula, and explored measures to promote regional and national growth. These efforts are expected to strengthen the council’s advisory function and contribute to broader development goals.
