Baek Juseon, the Democratic Party’s candidate for mayor of Namyangju, opened a campaign office in Dasan-dong, Namyangju.
On March 13, Baek unveiled his vision, “K-Global One-Million Special City: Namyangju Transformation,” and hosted both online and in-person events to engage residents directly.
Kim Yong, former deputy director of the Democratic Research Institute and chair of Baek’s fundraising committee, attended the opening. Rep. Choi Min-hee was also present, along with Kim Han-jung, a two-term lawmaker from the Namyangju-eul district who is likewise running for mayor.
The program included a talk show titled “Baek Juseon, Ahn Jin-gul, and Lee Kwang-soo’s Economic Talk.”
The participants discussed how the recent U.S.-Iran conflict has pushed up oil prices and contributed to currency volatility, and they debated the implications for the economy and how Namyangju’s municipal government should respond.
Baek said, “We organized this opening not simply as a campaign event but as a citizen-participation forum to discuss Namyangju’s future and the local economy. It’s a venue to hear diverse opinions as we plan Namyangju’s next leap forward.”
Baek graduated from Chung-Ang University’s law program and is the managing attorney at Daeyul Law Firm.
