[By Kim Tae-hyung, Sports Today] Ji Sang-ryeol is poised to make a major decision about marriage.
The March 14 episode of KBS2’s \”Men Who Run the Household Season 2\” will unveil a \”Send Ji Sang-ryeol to the Altar\” project spearheaded by Eun Ji-won and Moon Hee-jun.
In the episode, host Eun Ji-won reunites on camera with Moon Hee-jun, the leader of H.O.T. The two leaders—who once dominated Korea’s 1990s pop scene with H.O.T. and Sechs Kies—sit down together and reflect on three decades in the idol business as they mark their 30th anniversary since debut.
When Moon notes that Sechs Kies will hit its 30th anniversary next year as well, Eun admits he’s tempted to do a concert for the milestone but wonders who would show up. His remarks hint at the possibility of a reunion stage, raising viewers’ hopes that Sechs Kies might perform together for their 30th.
But the real reason for the gathering runs deeper. Eun confesses he’s worried Ji Sang-ryeol is headed for a life as a solitary elder and says they’ve arranged a special \”mirror therapy\” to nudge him toward marriage. Eun and Moon then visit the home of singer Kim Jang-hoon to drive the point home. The 64-year-old, who says he’s lived alone for 46 years, surprises everyone with an unorthodox single lifestyle and keeps the room laughing as he shares his freewheeling habits.
Kim greets guests with unusual home-cooked fare—from an anchovy-broth welcome drink to cola suyuk (cola-braised pork)—and lays bare a routine that is as carefree as it is occasionally rueful. Watching this, Ji Sang-ryeol declares, \”This isn’t the life for me. I’m getting married no matter what!\”—a moment that proves the mirror therapy can be stunningly effective.
Ji then places a phone call to his girlfriend Shin Bo-ram, who is 16 years his junior. For the first time on broadcast, the couple’s views on marriage are revealed, drawing attention. Back in the studio, panelists even suggest possible proposal lines as they excitedly debate whether the pair will tie the knot.
Tune in to the episode to see whether Ji Sang-ryeol follows through with a proposal this year and whether he genuinely commits to marriage.
