[Sports Today reporter Kim Tae-hyung] Girls’ Generation member Seohyun delivered a confident performance as a violinist.
On March 13, the Sol Philharmonic Orchestra held its eighth regular concert at Lotte Concert Hall in Sincheon-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul.
Seohyun appeared as a special guest soloist, drawing widespread attention. She performed Vittorio Monti’s \”Csárdás,\” a piece that alternates driving rhythms with plaintive, lyrical passages. For an encore, she played Girls’ Generation’s \”Into the New World,\” earning warm applause.
Seohyun is an amateur who has only been learning the violin for five months. She agreed to participate after resonating with the Sol Philharmonic Orchestra’s mission — the ensemble is made up of classical-music lovers rather than professional performers. She reportedly chose to take the stage to help lower the barrier to classical music and make the genre more accessible to wider audiences.
After the performance, she also held a short meet-and-greet with fans.
