Lee Jae-yong, chairman of Samsung Electronics, and Chung Eui-sun, chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, were both spotted wearing puffer vests from the same brand, drawing attention to the fashion choices of Korea’s top executives.
Industry sources say Lee returned to Seoul on the 13th after a trip to Europe, arriving at the Seoul Gimpo Business Aviation Center in Gangseo District. When reporters asked whether he had met with European clients while there, he briefly answered, “Yes,” and then left.
He was photographed wearing a white padded vest over his suit. The piece appears to be from Italian luxury brand Brunello Cucinelli and is reported to cost about 5.6 million KRW (approximately $4,200). Some online retailers currently list it as sold out.
The vest also attracted attention after appearing in a video last September showing him dining alone at a ramen shop in Kyoto, Japan. A YouTuber filmed and posted the footage, confirming he was wearing the same vest.
Chung Eui-sun was also seen in a puffer vest from the same label. In October of last year, he wore the identical vest during a so-called “ganbu meeting” at a chicken restaurant near Samseong Station in Gangnam, Seoul, where he was joined by Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, and Lee Jae-yong.
