The Sacheon City Facilities Management Corporation is rolling out a Sacheon Sea Cable Car annual pass on March 16 aimed at attracting repeat visitors from across the country and growing demand for longer stays.

The pass is meant to lower the barrier for visitors from out of town and give them the chance to enjoy the Sacheon Sea Cable Car — one of the South Korean coast’s signature landmarks — year-round, helping to energize the local economy.

The annual pass costs 75,000 KRW (about $56.25 USD) for adults and 65,000 KRW (about $48.75 USD) for children. From the issue date, pass holders can ride the cable car once per day for one year. They may choose either a standard cabin or the crystal cabin on any visit, increasing flexibility and enjoyment.

Each companion who visits with an annual pass holder (up to three people) gets a 5,000 KRW (about $3.75 USD) discount, a perk officials expect will help attract families and friend groups from outside the area.

However, Sacheon residents who already receive an existing 5,000 KRW (about $3.75 USD) discount cannot combine discounts; no additional discount will apply when purchasing the annual pass.

Applications for the annual pass are handled in person at the Sacheon Sea Cable Car Daebang stop ticket booth. Applicants receive a physical membership card on the spot after completing the form and payment.

The corporation says it will strengthen personal data protection by building a systematic membership management system. It will also analyze usage data to create tailored events and service upgrades specifically for annual-pass customers.

Director Han Jae-cheon said, “This annual pass will act as a springboard that encourages visitors from across the country who love Sacheon to return without hesitation. We will continue to give our citizens the highest level of hospitality and become a leading national tourist destination that brings fresh enjoyment to out-of-town visitors.”
