[Sports Today reporter Kim Tae-hyung] TWS is further solidifying its reputation as a “challenge” hitmaker.
According to data from global short-form video platform TikTok on March 17, short-form clips using the title track “OVERDRIVE” from TWS’s fourth mini album — including original sound — surpassed 2.3 million posts as of March 16. That tally places the song among the top-performing tracks by K-pop boy groups on the platform.
Posts featuring the “OVERDRIVE” sound have accumulated more than 4.4 billion views as of March 15. Buoyed by that momentum, the track continues to hold strong positions on TikTok Korea’s Top 50 and Viral 50 music charts.
The “Angtal” challenge built around “OVERDRIVE” has spread internationally. Major Chinese-language stars such as Zhao Lusi, Cai Yilin, Xu Guanghan, Chen Zeyuan and Liu Yuxin have joined the trend, as have Japan’s Yamada Ryosuke, indie-pop favorite Lilas (Ikura of YOASOBI) and child star Nonoka-chan.
The craze has even reached the sports world: Formula One driver Zhou Guanyu took part in the challenge, drawing attention from fans around the globe.
What began on short-form platforms has translated into sustained chart success. More than five months after its release, “OVERDRIVE” still appears on Melon’s daily, weekly and monthly charts. Following their debut single “First Meeting Didn’t Go as Planned,” TWS has cemented itself as a consistent chart presence.

Meanwhile, on March 17 at 9 p.m. KST, TWS will drop a new episode of their in-house variety show TWS:CLUB on the group’s official YouTube channel. The episode, which documents the members’ dorm life as they mark their second anniversary, teases a lively late-night snack party now that all members are adults — a setup that has fans buzzing.
