KBS2’s new weekend miniseries Not You, Another Love, slated to premiere in the second half of 2026, is a grounded romantic melodrama about a couple ten years into a relationship who suddenly confront unfamiliar emotions. The series follows long-term partners who have replaced fading passion with loyalty and trust and now find themselves torn between breaking up and getting married. When an unexpected crack appears in their relationship, the characters are forced to reevaluate what love and commitment really mean—an arc designed to resonate with viewers through its raw realism. The pairing of Seo Kang-joon—who solidified his acting credentials and star power after winning his first acting grand prize last year—and rom-com favorite Ahn Eun-jin promises to add depth and nuance to this very plausible love story.

Seo Kang-joon plays Namgung-ho, an assistant manager on the Hunmin Bakery TF team. Namgung-ho is warm, funny and effortlessly likable—he has a gift for making strangers feel like family within 10 minutes. That easy charm makes people assume he had a sheltered upbringing, but in truth he weathered many hardships because of his impulsive mother. Through those struggles, the one person who cried more quietly and more painfully by his side was his partner, Imi. After years of hinting at his romantic potential, fans are eager to see Seo take on a fully realized love story, and there’s already strong interest in how he’ll depict the emotional waves a man experiences when love is put to the test.

Ahn Eun-jin takes on the role of film director Imi. Once a promising young talent whose graduation film drew international attention, Imi has repeatedly had projects collapse in the face of industry realities. The cycle of setbacks has dulled her shine, leaving her at a low point. Known for bringing vivid humanity to every role, Ahn is expected to convincingly portray a woman caught between the comfort of a decade-long relationship and the sudden emergence of unsettling new feelings, heightening the show’s emotional stakes.

The series’ distinct hook—hinted at in the title—starts with the idea of falling for someone else, not the partner you always assumed would be yours. These characters share a bond so deep it’s hard to explain with time alone, having supported each other through their lowest moments. Yet that very familiarity can create instability. After a period of relationship reflection, the couple must decide whether their story ends in separation or marriage. The realistic choices and emotional reverberations of a tenth-year relationship are expected to generate powerful chemistry between Seo Kang-joon and Ahn Eun-jin.

Not You, Another Love is directed by Hwang Seung-gi—recognized for his stylish work on The Wedding Battle and The Quitter’s Pledge—and written by newcomer Yoo Su-ji, who makes her first foray into mini-series writing.
