On the 20th, Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced plans to step up efforts to attract Chinese visitors during key travel periods—spring blossom season (March–April), Qingming in April, Labor Day in May, Dano in June, and summer vacations in July and August.

On the 20th and 21st, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will host a two-day live-commerce event at Starfield Suwon’s Byeolmadang Library in partnership with Ctrip (operated by Trip.com Group), China’s largest travel platform. Aimed at Chinese travelers, the online broadcast will spotlight Gyeonggi’s attractions and offer discounted travel deals.

The event ties into the Visit Suwon Year 2026–2027 campaign. Last year, the Byeolmadang Library at Seoul COEX Mall was the only Korean site named among Trip.com Group’s “2025 Tourism Innovation Awards” top 10 global tourism innovations. Building on that prestige, the broadcast will use Starfield Suwon’s Byeolmadang Library as a stylish backdrop to showcase everything Gyeonggi has to offer.

Chinese hosts and travel influencers will highlight trendy culture, entertainment venues, K-food and wellness experiences across Gyeonggi. They’ll also introduce roughly 100 tourism products, featuring discounts on hotels, attraction tickets, day tours and group packages.

On day one, under the “Trendy & Playing Gyeonggi” theme, the program will showcase spots popular with Chinese visitors: major brand stores inside Starfield Suwon and the indoor sports complex SMOB (Sports Monster); Galleria Department Store; unique large cafes across southern Gyeonggi; Petite France and the Italian Village; Everland; Flying Suwon; and Seoul Land.

On the 21st, themed “K-Food & Healing Gyeonggi,” influencers will share first-person video experiences of Nammun Chicken Street in Suwon; Haengnidan-gil in Suwon, known as a K-drama filming location with a trendy MZ-generation vibe; Suwon wang galbi (royal ribs); the Osan Kyochon Chicken hands-on program; and Aqua Field facilities in Anseong, Goyang and Hanam.

Trip.com Group, which operates the Ctrip platform and stands as China’s largest travel company, signed an MOU with the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization in 2024. Since then, it has run annual marketing campaigns aimed at increasing Chinese tourism to Gyeonggi Province.
