LF, the company behind Reebok in Korea, announced on March 20 the Club C Loafer — a fresh hybrid that blends the polish of a dress shoe with the comfort of a sneaker, reimagining the classic Club C.
The Club C Loafer is an SMU (Special Make-Up) created exclusively to reflect Korean consumers’ lifestyles and styling. It pairs the outsole of the Club C 85, a flagship of Reebok’s Classic line, with the traditional penny loafer design of the 1930s.
The design features outward-facing U-tip stitching and a subtle gold penny print on the vamp strap to emphasize its classic vibe. The shoe is offered in suede and synthetic leather.
LF developed the Club C Loafer to nudge its primarily sneaker-focused customers into the loafer category.
Aimed at men in their 20s to 40s who often find sneakers too casual and dress shoes too formal, the model acts as a bridge between the two categories.
It works with business outfits—think shirts and slacks—but also pairs effortlessly with casual looks like denim or track pants, so one pair can cover a lot of styling ground.
A Reebok spokesperson said, “As people look to create a single, cohesive style that moves with them from commuting to leisure to work, demand is rising for hybrid shoes that blur the line between formal and casual. The Club C Loafer is a strategic fashion piece designed to introduce sneaker shoppers to loafers, rather than target the traditional dress-shoe market.”
