Wando County announced on March 25 that it’s launching a spring “stay-and-relax” tourism campaign to coincide with the Cheongsan Slow Walk Festival, spotlighting the area’s marine healing resources. The campaign pairs discounts at Cheongsan Marine Healing Park with a social media verification event to blend dining, experiences and downtime into one easy itinerary.

Rather than a simple discount, the initiative connects the festival, wellness offerings and local businesses so visitors can enjoy a longer, restorative stay. Officials say they want to shift Wando tourism from quick site-hopping to a stay-focused, healing-centered getaway.

The two-month promotion runs from April 1 through May 31. First up: half-price access to Cheongsan Marine Healing Park. Visitors who show receipts totaling at least 50,000 KRW (approximately $37.50) from restaurants, hotels or other Wando businesses can use all park programs at 50% off for themselves and up to two guests (three people total).

The park currently offers maifan stone herb therapy, aromatherapy and seaweed treatments, sound therapy, seawater mist sessions, a food-therapy pavilion and a smart health diagnostic room. During the event, it will also run a customized “My Body Pause” program so visitors can pick the therapies they want and make the most of their rest.

The second promotion targets guests who visit both the Wando Marine Healing Center and Cheongsan Marine Healing Park. After experiencing both sites, visitors who post a verification photo with the required hashtags on their personal social media can claim a small gift on a first-come, first-served basis.

Officials say the campaign aims to raise awareness of both facilities and brand Wando as a single healing hub. Pairing the Cheongsan Slow Walk Festival with marine healing links walking tourism to restorative experiences, while the local-spending requirement is designed to keep tourist dollars circulating within the community.

An official said, “We hope visitors stroll Cheongsan’s slow paths—framed by blooming canola flowers—and heal body and mind through marine therapy. With Wando’s festival-meets-wellness offerings, we want to give visitors an unforgettable springtime escape.”
