[Sports Today reporter Song O-jung] SM Entertainment (hereafter SM) has issued a warning after repeated invasions of its trainees’ privacy.

Recently, SM posted on the artist-rights platform Gwangya119 that privacy violations targeting SMTR25 — SM’s trainee group — have continued.

SM says so-called sasaeng fans have repeatedly broken into the SMTR25 dormitory, engaged in unwanted physical contact, and boarded taxis without permission, among other invasions of privacy.

The company also reported noise disturbances — including fans shouting trainees’ names inside the building — illegal dumping of trash, and trespassing into restricted areas, which have affected nearby residents as well.

SM added that these actions have left trainees, many of whom haven’t officially debuted, feeling unsafe in their daily lives, and have caused serious discomfort to neighbors. The agency urged that all acts invading artists’ privacy cease immediately.

The company said it has issued verbal warnings and deployed security teams, but the behavior has continued. SM warned it will take active legal measures and will respond sternly under a zero-tolerance policy, asking people not to become involved in any troubling incidents.

▲Full notice from SM Entertainment

Hello. This is SM Entertainment.

We sincerely thank the fans who show deep affection and support for SMTR25.

We are issuing this statement because acts that seriously invade SMTR25’s privacy have continued.

Sasaeng fans have repeatedly trespassed into SMTR25’s dormitory, engaged in unwanted physical contact, and boarded taxis without permission, causing the members extreme distress.

In addition, incidents such as loudly shouting trainees’ names inside the building (creating noise pollution), illegally dumping trash, and entering restricted areas have occurred. These actions have caused significant harm not only to our trainees but also to residents who share the space.

Because these behaviors have made trainees — many of whom have not yet debuted — feel unsafe even in their everyday lives, and because neighbors have complained of serious discomfort, we ask that all acts invading artists’ privacy stop immediately.

We have already used measures such as verbal warnings and accompaniment by security teams, but the situation has not improved and we have reached our limit.

If these actions do not stop immediately, we will take active legal measures to protect our trainees and residents, prevent safety incidents, and deter crime. We will enforce this policy with zero tolerance, so please refrain from becoming involved in any troubling incidents.

We will continue to do our utmost to protect our trainees and artists.

Thank you.
