[Sports Today reporter Kim Tae-hyung] Members of veteran K-pop act Shinhwa gathered for Lee Min-woo’s wedding, but Shin Hye-sung was notably absent from the photos. He was reportedly the only member who did not attend the ceremony.

Lee Min-woo married Lee Ah-mi, a third-generation Korean-Japanese who is 11 years his junior, on the 29th in a private ceremony in Seoul. The couple kept the guest list to immediate family and close friends. Jun Jin and Andy served as hosts, and Eric and Kim Dong-wan attended to offer their congratulations.

Photographer Cho Sun-hee shared images on social media that captured Shinhwa members at the wedding. Eric arrived with his wife, Na Hye-mi, and their son; Jun Jin and Andy also attended with their spouses. Kim Dong-wan, who is unmarried, was also pictured.

Shin Hye-sung did not appear in any of the photos. On the 30th, a Shinhwa representative told Sports Today that they could only confirm attendance and that Shin Hye-sung did not attend the wedding. The representative also said KBS2 filmed the full ceremony for its program and that the footage will air soon.

Shin Hye-sung has stepped back from public activities. In 2007 he was booked by police on suspicion of drunk driving without detention, and in 2009 he was fined for five instances of illegal overseas gambling that took place between July 2007 and April 2008. In October 2022, he was found asleep in another person’s car near the Tancheon 2 Bridge in Songpa District after driving while heavily intoxicated; police arrested him after he refused to take a breathalyzer test.

The court determined he had no intent to steal the vehicle and applied a charge of illegal use of a car. On appeal he received a six-month prison sentence with a one-year suspended term. Since then, Shin Hye-sung has remained largely inactive and is reportedly no longer signed with an agency.

Before the most recent drunk-driving episode, Shin Hye-sung also skipped performing on stage with the members at Andy’s wedding in June 2022. He did attend that ceremony but, officials said, did not join the performance due to his condition.

Meanwhile, Lee Min-woo has shared his journey into marriage, childbirth and adoption on KBS2’s The Men Who Keep House (Season 2), earning widespread support. Last year he legally adopted Lee Ah-mi’s 7-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, and in December he welcomed a second daughter, becoming a father of two.

Lee Min-woo and Lee Ah-mi first met in 2013 through an introduction during Shinhwa’s Japan tour. They lost touch during the COVID-19 pandemic but later reconnected and became a couple. With this marriage, Lee Min-woo is the fourth Shinhwa member to marry, following Eric, Jun Jin and Andy.
