Kick things off at 3D Museum Art in Paradise — a guaranteed way to snap kids’ attention. It’s Vietnam’s largest 3D trick-art museum and part of the Art in Paradise group with locations around the world. Housed in a two-story, roughly 4,000 m² (about 43,000 sq ft) space, the museum is divided into nine themed zones and includes work by around 20 Korean artists, which raises the overall quality. The experience is built for immersion: visitors don’t just look at art — they step into it.

Unlike a typical gallery, this place makes visitors part of the artwork. In the Imagine Zone you can pose as if you’re walking on a wall or surfing a wave. The Ancient Egypt zone stages adventure scenes inspired by Tutankhamen’s curses and treasures. The World Zone brings together global landmarks — from Rome’s Trevi Fountain to Venice’s canals — in one space. In the Safari Zone, you can take photos that look like you’re interacting with tigers or jaguars.

Each zone emphasizes play over passive viewing, so children naturally move around and become fully engaged. Laughing, running and snapping photos become part of the fun, and it’s an excellent energy boost early in a trip. Being indoors also shields you from heat or rain, so parents can relax while kids enjoy themselves. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission runs about 200,000 VND (~$8) for adults and 100,000 VND (~$4) for children. Expect to spend about 1.5–2 hours for a full visit.

If exploring works up an appetite, head about a 12-minute drive to one of the city’s best pizza spots. Pizza 4P’s Indochina Đà Nẵng is a popular Western-style restaurant known for its wood-fired pizzas, plus pasta and risotto. The house-made cheese really elevates the dishes — and the burrata pizza is the signature: creamy, slightly dense and bursting with fresh flavor. Other reliable picks, like Bolognese pasta or squid-ink risotto, tend to please even picky eaters.

The restaurant spans two floors; the upstairs dining room is much larger, and window seats offer views of the Han River. At the counter, kids can watch pizzas being made, which keeps them entertained. Because it’s so popular, waits can be long — sometimes over an hour. Pizza 4P’s is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Even on vacation, a little learning goes a long way. About a 12-minute walk from the restaurant, the Da Nang Museum is a compact spot where kids can pick up local history.

The exhibits are organized into sections that trace Da Nang’s formation and growth, covering topics like Cham culture, the Vietnam War and foreign incursions. War-related displays are prominent and use photos and archival footage to convey the period’s atmosphere. The material is accessible for elementary-school field trips, and a Korean audio guide is available to help visitors understand the content.

As an indoor stop, it’s also a handy place to cool off between outdoor activities. The air conditioning isn’t icy, but it’s enough to help you recharge. The museum is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is around 50,000 VND (~$2).

4. Linh Ung Pagoda

After indoor stops, head outdoors to soak in open-air views. Linh Ung Pagoda sits on the Son Tra Peninsula, about a 20-minute drive from the Da Nang Museum, and offers sweeping sea vistas. The towering Lady Buddha statue is a striking landmark that will leave a strong impression on kids.

You can also turn the visit into a short ecology lesson: wild monkeys live in the area. Keep a close eye on bags and belongings, as monkeys may rummage through them. Some paths include stairs and steep sections, so take care when walking. Linh Ung Pagoda is open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and admission is free.

5. Helio Center & Night Market

Helio Center is the perfect place to end a family day in Da Nang. About a 15-minute drive from Linh Ung Pagoda, this hybrid spot blends the vibe of a traditional local night market with a modern, well-organized cultural complex. It’s known as one of Da Nang’s cleaner night markets, so you can visit without worrying too much about hygiene or safety.

Helio’s charm goes beyond the food. The outdoor central stage hosts daily live performances that give the place a festival vibe, so you can wrap up your day on a high note. Scattered carnival game booths let kids play and stay entertained without getting bored.

If kids tire of outdoor activities, head indoors to Helio Kids, the city’s largest kids’ café located in the same complex. With air conditioning and a safe play area, kids can burn off energy while parents relax — a practical win for families.

Helio Center operates daily from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
