The center kicked off the program on the 22nd at the Jangan Creative Yard shared kitchen and plans to hold sessions at 2 PM on the fourth Wednesday of each month through November.

Designed for residents who often eat alone, the program teaches quick, healthy recipes you can make any night and offers an easy, natural way to connect with neighbors.

These hands-on, nutrition-focused sessions let participants cook together, encouraging better eating habits, helping prevent social isolation, and building emotional bonds.

More than basic cooking lessons, the program invites people to prepare and share meals, boosting community engagement. Since launching in 2023, it has received positive feedback for participant satisfaction and meaningful changes to daily life.

A Hyang-dong Administrative Welfare Center official said, \”This program is meaningful because it gives residents who often eat alone a healthy meal and a chance for warm conversation. We will continue expanding practical, hands-on programs that improve residents’ quality of life.\”

Meanwhile, the center also runs a side-dish distribution program for vulnerable residents — including people with disabilities and older adults living alone — to strengthen local care services.
