[SPOTV News reporter Bae Seon-young] Television personality Park Seul-gi explained why she was moved to tears at the wedding of Koyote member Shinji and singer Moonwon.
On May 2, Park posted photos from the ceremony to her social media account. She wrote, “Shinji — so stylish and dear to me — got married. Baek Ji-young’s tear-filled congratulatory song made me burst into tears before I knew it, but thanks to the skilled emcee Boom and Se-yoon, I pulled myself together. The whole event felt like a festival.”
Park continued, “The groom’s self-composed song and the way he looked at the bride every moment were unbearably sweet. After some twists and turns, I made it there today — and I’m so glad I did. Shinji was radiant, and the two are perfect together. I wish them happiness and truly congratulate them.”
Shinji and Moonwon, who is seven years younger than her, held a private wedding at a venue in Gangnam, Seoul, and legally tied the knot. Comedian Moon Se-yoon served as master of ceremonies, and Baek Ji-young performed the congratulatory song.
The couple met on a radio program in 2024 and later became romantically involved. Public opposition to the marriage swelled after reports about Moonwon’s previous marriage and a video of a matchmaking meeting with Koyote members Kim Jong-min and Baekga circulated. Shinji publicly defended Moonwon, and in the run-up to the wedding Moonwon reportedly lost his job and took work at a logistics center, even doing stairwell cleaning — developments that drew attention as well.
