E-Mart’s pet brand MOLLY’S announced on May 5 that it will launch dog-only shaved ice and cold noodles on May 7.
The snack line relies on wholesome ingredients—dried pollack broth, black rice, and cabbage—with no preservatives or synthetic additives, aiming to deliver both flavor and nutrition.
The mul-style cold noodles use a dried pollack broth base and noodles made from black rice and rice flour, topped with cabbage, asparagus, and coconut for texture. The bibim (spicy) version builds a red sauce from sweet potato and beet.
The dog shaved ice shapes the “ice” from chicken breast and lactose-free milk, and recreates the red-bean topping using carob and white kidney beans. It’s designed as a summer treat that lowers allergy risk.
Each dog cold noodle—both the mul and bibim—costs 9,800원 (about $7.35), and the dog shaved ice is 8,500원 (about $6.38).
The products will be available through E-Mart’s Order to Home app starting May 7, and in MOLLY’S shops inside E-Mart and Starfield from May 8.
The launch taps into the growing \”pet humanization\” trend—treating pets like family. E-Mart points to more single-person households and social-media-driven culture as drivers of this spending.
E-Mart reported April year-over-year gains in pet sales: snacks up 13.3%, walking gear up 25.1%, and bedding up 27.7%.
Earlier launches—like the sold-out Meongjjonku and the dog tteokguk (rice-cake soup for pets)—show steady demand for pet-specific items. The Campo Pet Cushion has also become a popular product.
E-Mart says it will expand its pet lineup beyond food into broader lifestyle categories.
Sunggeun Kim, team lead of E-Mart’s MOLLY’S, said, \”The pet market is evolving beyond simple ownership to coexisting with people. We’ll keep introducing products that bring both health and joy.\”
