The 2026 Pre-Wando International Seaweed Expo opened on May 2 and runs through May 7. Interactive programs spotlighting seaweed and abalone have been drawing steady crowds. On May 5, visitors joined a “Healing Kimbap” workshop that shaped rolls into a W—the first letter of Wando—and registrations are still open for the traditional bamboo sea-fishing experience. 

Across the expo, organizers are offering a variety of hands-on programs, including seaweed sheet-making, seaweed snack workshops, and marine therapy experiences.
