Karakula’s YouTube Shutdown: Is It a Case of AI Misjudgment or Organized Attacks?

Two YouTube channels run by Karakula, the creator known as \”Cyber Rekka,\” have been shut down.

On Instagram, Karakula said his main channel (Karakula Detective Agency) and a secondary channel (Karakula Storage) were suspended simultaneously — an unprecedented development, he wrote.

As of May 6, both channels remained removed.

Karakula told followers he had produced content in accordance with YouTube’s community guidelines and did not intentionally or repeatedly violate platform rules. He said he detected signs of coordinated false reporting from groups with vested interests targeting the sensitive investigative stories he has covered.

He argued that the suspensions were not the result of fair human review but rather YouTube’s automated AI filters mechanically responding to that organized reporting campaign.

Karakula said he has submitted documentation to YouTube and is reexamining all his content to ensure it complies with policy. He called the matter more than a routine channel dispute, saying it threatens the continuity and record of his ongoing work. He pledged to pursue his appeal responsibly and work to restore the channels as quickly as possible.

Some observers point to a recent episode that featured the accused in the assault that led to the death of director Kim Chang-min as a possible trigger. A man surnamed Lee appeared on Karakula’s channel on April 9 to present his side of the case. Kim’s family protested that the appearance caused them further harm, and critics accused the interview of amounting to secondary victimization.
