By Lee Seung-gil, MyDaily — Kim Ji-young, the television personality who rose to fame on Channel A’s Heart Signal 4, marked Parents’ Day by donating part of her wedding gift money to charity. On the 8th, she posted on social media that she wanted to share a portion of the wedding funds with a meaningful cause and announced her support for the Stair Busters Club, an organization she has long backed.

The Stair Busters Club surveys cafes, restaurants and buildings to map the presence of stairs and the locations of elevators, creating guides that help people with limited mobility—wheelchair users, seniors and caregivers pushing strollers—navigate public spaces more easily. Kim described the group’s work as easing the uncertainty people feel when asking, “Can I go there?” and said she often joins crew members in the field to record information herself, demonstrating ongoing commitment.

Reflecting on the donation, she wrote that she feels genuinely delighted that her cardio workouts can be of small help to the world. “I believe these small acts will gradually make the world a better place,” she added. Kim also pledged that, after marriage, she and her husband will try to live slowly and well—not only seeking their own happiness but also sharing warmth with those around them.

Kim married Yoon Soo-young, founder of Trevari—the country’s largest book-club community—this past February after being introduced by Heart Signal 4 alum Lee Joo-mi. Now pregnant, she and her husband appeared on SBS’s variety show Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 – You Are My Destiny, where they shared sweet moments from their newlywed life and drew public interest.

Below is Kim Ji-young’s full statement.

How are you spending Parents’ Day evening, everyone? 🤍

I wanted to donate part of our wedding gift money to a meaningful cause. I decided to support the Stair Busters Club, an organization I’ve worked with and genuinely cheered for over a long time.

The Stair Busters Club creates maps to help people with limited mobility—wheelchair users, seniors and caregivers pushing strollers—get around more easily.

The crew members personally visit cafes, restaurants and buildings

to check for stairs and record elevator locations,

and they register that mobility information in an app,

helping to ease the uncertainty someone might feel when asking, “Can I go there?” 🦭

I join their activities fairly often.

On nice days, I spend about two hours walking slowly and recording information. It’s good exercise, and I honestly (no, really) love that my cardio can do a little good for the world. Hehe. 🍋

(And yes — anyone can become a crew member..!)

I’m still one of the shy crew members, but I believe these small efforts will make the world a little better, right? 😶‍🌫️

After marriage, we’ll try to live slowly and well—not just focusing on our own happiness but sharing a little warmth with those around us.🤍
