[iNews24 Reporter Yurim Jeong] Naver plans to use artificial intelligence (AI) to surface more detailed information from select blogs in its search results. The change aims to help users find accurate, trustworthy information.

On May 10, Naver said it will begin offering AI-sourced information in its unified search on May 14 for certain official blogs run by public and educational institutions. In search results, the company will show a brief 2-3 sentence summary that identifies which organization operates the blog and the topics it typically covers.
Users will be able to click a button embedded in the search result to view additional details. Naver said it has about 17,900 registered official blogs after verifying they are operated by institutions, companies or organizations. The feature will be applied initially to a subset of those blogs, with plans to expand the program over time. Naver says the change should help users judge whether the content they encounter while searching is reliable.
Naver has emphasized delivering trustworthy information based on reputable sources. For example, a search for \”epilepsy\” returns a concise summary of the condition along with source links — such as hospital websites and official blogs — that users can follow to learn more.
A Naver spokesperson said, \”We expect users to consult AI-sourced information to help assess credibility, and we will continue testing usability.\” The spokesperson added that while people increasingly get information from AI services, verification of accuracy still happens through traditional search features. \”We will keep improving our core search capabilities and competitiveness to better support users during their information-seeking process,\” they said.
