[Sports Seoul | Reporter Choi Seung-seop] aespa member Karina revealed striking behind-the-scenes photos from a recent shoot as the group prepares to drop its second full-length album.
On May 11, Karina posted stills from the music video shoot for her new single “WDA (Whole Different Animal)” to her personal social accounts.
The newly released images expand aespa’s “global hero” universe while showcasing a deeper, more distinct side of Karina.
In the photos, a green laser-grid pattern crosses her face and body as she stares directly into the lens. Coupled with the song’s mechanical, futuristic sound, the visuals create the impression of a character stepping out of a virtual world into reality. Changes in lighting tilt her between icy charisma and a dreamlike mood, underscoring her ability to inhabit diverse concepts.
The styling and props are striking as well. Karina pairs a form-fitting bodysuit with metallic-textured accessories and long, braided hair. In several shots, glowing red eyes and mechanically detailed skin convey an otherworldly, intense vitality that fits the title “Whole Different Animal.”
aespa kicked off their comeback by releasing the pre-release single “WDA” at 6 p.m. on May 11.
