BMW Group Korea donated two all-electric iX1 Sports Activity Vehicles (SAVs) to the Incheon Fire Department as multi-purpose patrol vehicles to support firefighting operations. The company held a handover ceremony on May 13 at the Incheon Fire Department in Michuhol District, Incheon.

On May 14, BMW Group Korea said the donated vehicles will be used for prevention patrols in fire-prone areas and to support large public events. They will also be deployed to deliver and install firefighting supplies for vulnerable residents, assist fire victims with on-site administrative support, and help run public safety education programs.

Han Sang-yoon, CEO of BMW Group Korea, said, \”We deeply thank the firefighters who dedicate themselves to protecting citizens’ lives and safety. As a corporate citizen in Korea, we will continue to fulfill our social responsibilities and pursue ongoing cooperation with public safety organizations, including the Incheon Fire Department.\”

BMW Group Korea has continued collaborative efforts in fire safety. In 2024, the company provided driving training for paramedics from local fire stations at its BMW Driving Center on Yeongjongdo in Incheon. The previous year, it conducted training on electric vehicle fire response and broader fire safety protocols.

The company also supplied the National Fire Agency with 1,150 vehicle refrigerators for use at firefighting and emergency response sites nationwide. It indefinitely extended the free replacement period for consumable parts on seven BMW X5 vehicles donated to the Seoul Fire and Disaster Headquarters. To aid recovery from the large wildfires that struck nationwide in March 2025, BMW Group Korea donated 500 million KRW (about $375,000) to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association.
