With BTS scheduled to perform in June, Busan police have launched safety inspections at the stadium and in key downtown areas. Authorities expect large crowds across Busan during the performances and have stepped up efforts to prevent traffic congestion and safety incidents.

The Busan Metropolitan Police Agency said on May 21 that it conducted on-site safety checks around the Busan Asiad Main Stadium on May 20. Inspectors focused on likely crowding spots, spectator flow paths, entry and exit passages, and emergency evacuation routes.

Police noted that a range of side events — including drone shows, music performances and food festivals — will take place across downtown Busan and at tourist sites before and after the BTS concerts. They expect a sharp increase in foreign tourists and fan-club visitors in addition to concertgoers.

Accordingly, police plan to deploy rapid-response units, regional preventive patrols and traffic officers to manage on-site safety during the events. With organizers expecting roughly 100,000 people at the venue and surrounding areas, they will add traffic officers at major intersections and access roads to better control vehicle flow.

They will also coordinate with Busan city to provide detour guidance and real-time traffic updates.

A Busan police official said, “Because this event is drawing global attention, we will devote all our efforts to preparation and on-site response. We also ask residents to cooperate with traffic control measures during the events.”
