Translation resultMusic producer Teddy (TEDDY) and his label, The Black Label, have strengthened their position as a global K-pop company after securing a major Series B investment round. The label said on the 26th that it successfully closed the round on the 20th, with Tencent Music Entertainment Group and Krafton joining as lead investors. Early backer Saehan Venture Investment and other existing shareholders also participated, signaling confidence in the company’s growth prospects.Jung Kyung-in, chief executive of The Black Label, said the Series B funding will bolster the company’s capabilities and provide a powerful springboard for becoming a leading integrated entertainment firm on the global stage. The label’s rapid rise reflects its strong IP-production capabilities and a deep artist roster under Teddy’s direction—the same producer behind global K-pop acts such as BigBang, 2NE1 and BLACKPINK. The Black Label represents internationally known artists including Rosé, Taeyang and Jeon Somi, as well as actors Park Bo-gum and Lim Si-wan.After debuting girl group MEOVV in 2024, the label followed with the successful 2025 launch of mixed group All Day Project, demonstrating its ability to discover and develop new talent. The company also oversaw the original soundtrack for the global animated hit “K-pop Demon Hunters,” which swept major awards last year, including the Grammys, Oscars and Golden Globes—further evidence of its reach in the international music market. Those achievements are reflected in the finances. The Black Label’s revenue rose from 39.3 billion KRW (about $29.48 million) in 2023 to 42.3 billion KRW (about $31.73 million) in 2024, then jumped to 73.8 billion KRW (about $55.35 million) last year.Investors expect meaningful synergies as The Black Label expands globally. The company plans to accelerate its push into Asian and global streaming and live-performance markets through its partnership with Tencent Music Entertainment Group. With Krafton, The Black Label aims to pursue cross-platform content that blends music, video and gaming—an effort that could broaden its business and increase its international footprint.
