[Digital Today reporter Hwang Chi-gyu] TechCrunch reported on July 7 that Spotify has rolled out a beta feature allowing users to save and listen to personal podcasts generated by AI agents directly within the app.
Developers using tools such as OpenAI Codex, Anthropic Claude, and OpenClaw can use Spotify’s new command-line tool to generate podcasts and save them straight to Spotify. The created podcasts are stored in the user’s Spotify library and remain private; other users cannot access them.
Spotify said, “Users have already started using agents to create personal audio content, ranging from summaries of class notes before exams to schedule briefings. They want a way to listen to that content on Spotify.”
Here’s how it works. Download the CLI tool from the GitHub page and sign in to your Spotify account through your browser. Then enter a prompt such as, “Create an in-depth audio session covering the key players, host cities, and major matches you need to know about this year’s World Cup.” The agent will generate the podcast and save it to Spotify, and Spotify will provide a link to the created episode.
