U.S. forces said they carried out additional strikes on facilities inside Iran last weekend.

U.S. Central Command said on June 1 that over the weekend it conducted self-defense strikes against Iranian radar and drone-control sites on Goruk and Qeshm Island, Iran.

The operation took place on the 30th and 31st of last month. CENTCOM described the strikes as a deliberate, measured response to Iranian aggressive actions, including the downing of a U.S. MQ-1 drone that was operating in international airspace.

CENTCOM said U.S. warplanes responded quickly, striking elements of Iran’s air-defense network and a ground-control site, and destroying two one-way attack drones that posed a clear threat to regional vessels. No U.S. personnel were injured, the command added, and it said the U.S. will continue to protect its assets and interests against unjustified Iranian attacks during the ceasefire period.

Earlier, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on May 29 that Iranian forces had shot down a U.S. drone in southern Bushehr province.

CENTCOM disputed that claim, saying on social media that no U.S. aircraft had been downed and that all U.S. air assets were accounted for.
