BTS began the BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN NORTH AMERICA on April 25 (local time) at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium. The group then traveled to El Paso, Mexico City, Stanford and Las Vegas, performing 15 shows in all. Organizers said the North American leg drew roughly 840,000 attendees.

All originally scheduled dates sold out, and organizers added extra shows in Tampa, Stanford and Las Vegas — which also sold out.

The setlist combined songs from their new album ARIRANG with longtime hits. During the \”Body to Body\” performance, fans joined the group in singing the traditional folk song \”Arirang.\”

Local outlets likewise highlighted the concerts’ economic impact. Las Vegas station 8 News Now estimated the shows could inject up to 301.4 billion KRW (approximately $226.1 million) into the local economy.

Florida station 10 Tampa Bay News estimated the Tampa concerts generated roughly 1.2–1.3 trillion KRW (approximately $900 million to $975 million). The Mexico City Chamber of Commerce projected the local performances would create about 155.7 billion KRW (approximately $116.8 million) in economic activity.

Analysts say the tour has also boosted interest in Korean culture. ABC7 San Francisco reported that BTS’s popularity has spurred greater curiosity about the Korean language and culture. In an interview with the station, Stanford University Korean-studies professor Dafna Zur said enrollment is rising in courses on Korean language, history and literature.

In Mexico City, officials hosted a presidential reception ahead of the shows. BTS visited the presidential palace, met citizens, and received a Visitantes Distinguidos (Distinguished Visitors) plaque from the Mexican government. They later joined the president on the Zócalo balcony to greet the crowd.

In El Paso, county commissioners presented BTS with the Estimado Amigo honor and declared May 2–3 \”El Paso BTS Weekend.\”

According to Billboard, BTS topped its Top Tours list after eight April concerts in Goyang, Tokyo and Tampa, earning 114.5 billion KRW (approximately $85.9 million) in revenue and selling 417,000 tickets.

BTS will perform at Busan Asiad Main Stadium on June 12–13, then begin a European leg in Madrid on June 26. In August, the group plans to launch a second North American tour starting in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Meanwhile, ARIRANG has remained in the top three of Spotify’s weekly album chart for 10 consecutive weeks.
