The ‘Ice Cream’ Coffee Hack Everyone in Korea Is Obsessed With

Vienna coffee from Kang’s Restaurant that tastes like drinking soft ice cream! The staff at Kang’s Restaurant couldn’t stop raving about this drink. I tried making it myself and immediately understood why. One sip delivers a scoop‑like creaminess that softens the coffee’s bitterness and leaves a light, sweet finish. It’s surprisingly easy to make at home.

The ingredients are whipping cream 100ml (about 3.4 fl oz), sweetened condensed milk 20ml (about 0.7 fl oz), and a pinch of ground cinnamon. That makes roughly two servings. Want to scale up? Use a 10:2 ratio of whipping cream to condensed milk to keep the same balance they used on the show.

Whisk the whipping cream and condensed milk together until thick. A hand whisk works, but a hand mixer speeds things up. On the show they jokingly called the hand blender the \”Industrial Revolution\” tool — and for good reason: it makes this effortless.

After about 3–5 minutes of whipping, the mixture takes on an ice‑cream‑like texture.

It should look something like this. I recommend scooping about two spoonfuls on top of a cup of Americano.

Use your regular brewed coffee or any unsweetened coffee at home. Gently spoon the cream on top so it sits like a cloud.

I used two spoonfuls for my cup.

Finish with a light dusting of ground cinnamon for a cozy aroma and flavor pop.

The contrast of cold cream on hot coffee creates a silky, ice‑cream‑like mouthfeel. That warm cinnamon scent? Pure comfort.

Don’t overmix the cream into the coffee — leaving a little texture makes it feel more like a bite of ice cream. Tasting it, I totally got why staff members Eun Ji-won, Song Min-ho, and Kang Ho-dong were raving about it.

Simple ingredients, minimal effort. This Vienna coffee is an easy, delicious treat you can make at home!
