WISEYU Youngsan University (President Bu Gu‑uk)’s Graduate School of Beauty Arts took part in the 2026 ABIL (Asia Beauty International League) Glocal Beauty Conference and Academic Symposium on March 28 at the Sola Tower in Jinhae Marine Park, Changwon, showcasing K‑Beauty’s international reach and its cutting‑edge academic strengths.

Hosted by ABIL and supported by the Lee Chungmugong Commemoration Naval Port Festival Committee, the large international event drew beauty professionals from across Asia, including China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Vietnam. The program featured a glocal beauty competition, an academic conference and a dinner party. Youngsan turned heads by presenting research that merges a tailored education system for international students with generative AI technology — work that captured interest from both academia and industry.

Professor Jeongwon Kim, chair of the Department of Beauty Arts and lead professor at the Graduate School of Beauty Arts, opened with a lecture titled “Global Expansion of K‑Beauty Education and Case Studies in Building Education Systems for International Students.” He outlined Youngsan’s distinctive curriculum, developed from careful analysis of international students’ needs, and described a structured support process that grooms students into global beauty professionals rather than just technicians.

To bolster his points, Professor Kim shared concrete outcomes: international graduates who have successfully transitioned into Korea’s beauty industry after earning their degrees. Youngsan’s facilities are so advanced that practicing dermatologists from abroad have enrolled to study K‑Beauty theory and practice. Roughly 1,800 international students from 20 countries attend the university, making it a hub for a global network.

In the academic session that followed, Seon‑young Jeong, a doctoral candidate who also teaches as an adjunct professor at the Graduate School of Beauty Arts, presented “A Study on Nail Works Applying Fractal Components Based on Generative AI Models.” Jeong combined traditional beauty arts with generative AI to translate complex fractal structures into striking nail art, underscoring the graduate school’s innovative scholarly profile.

Professor Jeongwon Kim commented, “Bringing together experts from China and across Southeast Asia made this conference a meaningful stage to showcase Youngsan’s global K‑Beauty education model. We will continue integrating future technologies like generative AI into our curriculum and expand advanced training systems so international talent can contribute to local communities and industry.”
