[EPN Enpinau Reporter Go Nari] Park Kyung-hye offered practical housing tips for first-time renters and candid, down-to-earth advice.
In a video posted May 3 to her channel ‘Kyung-hye Bollae’, Park recounted her own experience moving out on her own and described specific moments from signing a lease through to move-in day.
She began by stressing the need for a clear, detailed budget. Renters should total living expenses, furniture and supplies, and plan for recurring monthly costs like electricity, gas and parking fees.
When touring a unit, her primary concern was signs of pests. Noticing cockroach bait on top of the refrigerator during a walkthrough, she said she immediately asked the landlord whether pests had been an issue.
She also urged renters to inspect for mold, check bathroom conditions and identify any repairs the unit may need before moving in. Skipping those checks, she warned, can lead to problems that derail your plans after you’ve moved in.
Park shared a personal anecdote: once, she slept on the floor for several days because she hadn’t prepared enough, a reminder of why careful planning matters.
Before signing a lease, she recommended checking the property registry to see if the unit carries outstanding loans or unpaid charges.
Park made her film debut in 2011 with ‘Ad Balloon’ and has since appeared in ‘Veteran 2’, ‘Smuggling’, ‘Mogadishu’ and ‘Flight’.
She also drew attention when she revealed that she first lived alone in a 6-pyeong studio in Gangnam, Seoul (about 214 sq ft).
