Lotte said it will run the lifestyle curation shop Sisi Hoshi pop-up, called “Gift House,” on the B1 level of Avenuel at its Jamsil store through the 28th. The event is aimed at customers choosing presents for family and friends.
The pop-up brings together Sisi Hoshi merchandise, partner-brand items and spatial design by artist Kim Cham-sae. Kim, known for distinctive drawings, designed the storefront and the photo zone. Lotte says the goal is to turn the act of choosing a gift into a memorable retail visit.
At the pop-up, Sisi Hoshi will debut nine in-house items. The selection focuses on everyday giftable items—cookies, glass sets, paper flowers and similar goods that are easy to give. The shop will also offer snack sets and character merchandise created in collaboration with Lotte Chilsung Beverage and Lotte Wellfood.
The store is also running giveaways for buyers. Customers who add Sisi Hoshi as a KakaoTalk Plus Friend or follow the brand on Instagram will receive a randomly selected paper flower co-created with artist Kim Cham-sae. Shoppers who buy the “Sun Snack Assortment” will get a sticker pack designed in collaboration with the artist.
Department stores see May as a peak month for gift sales. With Children’s Day, Parents’ Day and Teacher’s Day arriving in quick succession, demand spikes across food, home goods, sundries and character products. Recently, customers have increasingly sought stylish small items and limited-edition goods in addition to higher-priced presents.
Lotte’s pop-up is aimed at that growing market for “small gifts.” By curating a store that pairs brands with artists, the department store is trying to attract both younger shoppers and family visitors at the same time.
