Chef Park Eun-young Reveals Love Story: How Long-Distance Dating Led to a Dream Wedding

Translation result박은영 Herald Economy reporter Choi Won-hyuk — Chef Park Eun-young opened up about her relationship with her fiancé.

On May 13, she posted a video to her YouTube channel, “Bap Eun-young,” titled “Chinese-cuisine bride-to-be Park Eun-young’s failed(?) solo bridal shower and her first-ever Q&A (confession story, husband look-alike, worst dish on ‘Please Take Care of My Refrigerator’).”

In the video, Park recounted how they met. They were set up on a blind date several years ago that initially didn’t work out, but they reconnected later and “things clicked,” she said. He would check in from time to time, and they bumped into each other when he was traveling between Hong Kong and Korea. Gradually, they grew closer.

When the production team asked whether she made the first move, Park said she didn’t exactly confess. “I think I pressured him,” she admitted. She described their situation as ambiguous — not officially dating, yet meeting for meals whenever he was in Korea — and said she spoke to him as if it might be their last meal together.

She added that he found the arrangement burdensome because it felt like a long-distance relationship to him. From Park’s perspective, though, it didn’t feel long-distance: he was coming to Korea about once a week, and she was taking roughly eight flights a month, so she couldn’t really call it long-distance. Still, she acknowledged, he could perceive it as distant because they couldn’t see each other whenever they wanted.

Park plans to marry her fiancé, who is reportedly a doctor, in May at the Shilla Hotel in Jangchung-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul.
