[Sports Seoul | By Wi Su-jeong] Ryu Iseo, the wife of Shinhwa member Jun Jin, has opened up about preparing for in vitro fertilization (IVF) and drawn widespread support for her upbeat approach.

On May 14 she uploaded a video to her YouTube channel My Love Ryu Iseo, where she showcased her favorite meal kits and daily diet and shared moments from her everyday life. In the clip, she and her husband, Jun Jin, eat together and casually mention that she recently began IVF treatment.

Ryu said, “I recently had ovulation shots for about four days,” signaling that she’s officially started the IVF process. When production staff asked whether the self-administered injections were painful, she replied, “Just think of it as thrilling,” a remark that drew attention. “It may sound strange, but I’m trying to change my mindset,” she added. “I was scared at first, but I’m shifting my perspective so I can approach this with a sense of joy,” she said, revealing quiet resolve.

Acts of kindness from friends have followed. Ryu said a neighborhood friend who also started IVF cooked and brought her samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) and gomguk (beef bone broth), insisting she needed to stay healthy. Jun Jin added with a smile that his mother-in-law calls that friend “like her own mother,” underscoring how close they’ve become.
