[Sports Seoul | Choi Seung-seop] Actor Noh Min-woo traded his “Asian Prince” title for a day to become a devoted newlywed in a small village in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, bringing warmth and laughter to living rooms across the nation.
The February 9th episode of KBS1’s “6 O’Clock in My Hometown” featured Noh Min-woo and youth leader Son Heon-soo opening a pop-up “Bung Bung Hair Salon” for the elderly in Jo-eup 1-ri village, Icheon. This pre-Lunar New Year initiative, aimed at helping seniors with limited mobility, allowed Noh to showcase his hidden hairdressing talents.
Noh confidently shared, “I used to cut my younger brother’s hair,” and impressed onlookers by providing a tailored style for a senior concerned about thinning hair. His expert scalp massages became the talk of the town, with elderly patrons claiming, “It’s only refreshing when Min-woo does it.”
After his stint as a hairdresser, Noh rolled up his sleeves to help in a pepper field. Amidst the sprawling crops, he diligently worked with his hair tied back, playfully embracing Son Heon-soo’s quip, “The newlywed looks so lovely!” His “newlywed mode” kept the atmosphere light and cheerful.
In a moment of candor, Noh revealed, “The owner of my regular bathhouse always has ‘6 O’Clock in My Hometown’ on, but he doesn’t know what I do for a living.” He added with a chuckle, “I decided to appear on the show just to let him know I’m an actor.” Noh then shyly addressed the camera, “Sir, I’m an actor!” showcasing his down-to-earth charm.
Noh Min-woo, who debuted in 2004 with the band TRAX’s hit “Rose” and gained fame through dramas like “Pasta” and “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho,” is currently starring in the musical “Eternity.” thunder@sportsseoul.com
