[Sports Today reporter Song Oh-jung] Jeon Ji-yoon, formerly of K-pop group 4Minute, revealed she has become a web novel author.
Jeon appeared on the YouTube program Seudeukbang, released on the 13th, where she was presented as a web novel writer rather than a singer.
Jeon said she was surprised to receive the invitation. \”I keep my work as a web novel writer secret, so most people don’t know. I wondered how they found out and reached out to invite me,\” she said.
She added, \”This is my first time appearing on a broadcast as a web novel writer. It’s my first public appearance as an author, so I’m really excited.\”
Asked what led her to try writing web novels, she explained that she had always been an avid reader and eventually thought, \”What if I tried writing one myself?\” By chance, the government was offering a free academy, so she applied. After interviewing, she was accepted, graduated as a top student, and then debuted.
Jeon, who writes under a pen name and has not revealed her identity, said she is still deciding whether to go public. \”I’ve been thinking it over, but when I ask myself if revealing it would really benefit me, I keep coming to the conclusion that it probably wouldn’t, so I haven’t made it public,\” she said.
