[Sports Today reporter Jeong Ye-won] Musical actor Han Ji-sang’s agency has indicated it will pursue legal action.
On March 16, Han’s agency BlueStage said on its official social media that it has confirmed a steady stream of posts on certain online communities and social media spreading false or unverified claims, malicious attacks, and defamatory content about the actor.
The agency said it will pursue aggressive legal action—without leniency or settlement—against any conduct that infringes on its artist’s rights, including the spread of false information, malicious slander, insulting posts, and defamation. It added that it has already initiated legal procedures through counsel in multiple cases. In some instances, the authors have been identified, investigations opened, and prosecutions filed.
BlueStage said it will apply the same standards to any similar cases that emerge and will hold anonymous defendants fully accountable for harming the artist’s reputation.
Han was previously embroiled in allegations of sexual misconduct in 2020 when a fan identified only as “A” accused him of sexual assault. At the time, Han reported that he had been threatened and filed complaints alleging attempted extortion and coercion; prosecutors ultimately declined to indict.
On March 9, reports surfaced that Sungkyunkwan University had rescinded an invitation for Han to serve as a lecturer after student objections. Han released a detailed account of the episode on YouTube. He said he and A had mutual interest and met several times, but that he made clear he could not continue the relationship and that they did not meet thereafter. He said A later sent messages framing the situation as a one-sided sexual assault, and that he initially tried to calm matters. According to Han, A demanded “500 million–1 billion KRW (roughly $375,000–$750,000)” and a “year‑long public relationship,” then reduced the demand to “300 million KRW (about $225,000).”
