[Sports Today reporter Lim Si-ryeong] Television personality Lee Se-young revealed that she recently received a direct message from someone who had bullied her when they were in school.
On the 17th, Lee uploaded a video to the YouTube channel “Youngpyeong TV (YPTV)” titled “Storytime: The Kid Who Bullied Me in School DM’d Me — Doing My Makeup.”
In the clip, Lee explained that she had been away from the channel because she spent the past three months appearing on the trot competition series Miss Trot, which kept her from posting.
She then turned to the message she received, saying simply, “I got a DM,” and went on to revisit her high school experience.
Lee said that in her first year of high school, a former middle-school ringleader transferred into her class. When he and his circle were annoyed, they would single out one student at a time to ostracize, and Lee said she became their first target.
She recalled that early in the semester someone started a cruel trend of saying “you’re ugly” in Chinese. Since the group of seven friends had been together for less than a month, the remark stung and she reacted. Rather than apologize, they accused her of overreacting and then began to exclude her.
Lee said the same bully later sent her a direct message that read, “I’ve seen you on TV. I remember you bullied me, so shut up and live quietly.” She said she was baffled. When she replied, “Weren’t you the one who started excluding me?” the sender insisted her memory was wrong.
Lee added that she shared the DM with former classmates, and several offered to serve as witnesses — one even happens to be a lawyer. After she forwarded what they provided, she said, the sender blocked her.
