SF9’s Youngbin Shines in Musical Debut: What to Expect from His Future Roles?

[TV Daily reporter Choi Hana] SF9 member Youngbin cemented his potential as a musical actor by delivering a confident final performance in the musical \”Secretly, Greatly: THE LAST.\”

Youngbin concluded a roughly three-month run on the 25th with the closing show at the NOL Theater Woori Card Hall in Daehangno.

Based on the film and webtoon of the same name, \”Secretly, Greatly: THE LAST\” follows North Korean special forces operatives who live undercover in a small Seoul neighborhood while concealing their true identities. Youngbin portrayed Lee Hae-rang, the son of a high-ranking North Korean official who poses in the South as an aspiring rocker, delivering a layered performance.

Though it was his first musical, Youngbin gave a nuanced portrayal marked by precise diction and delicate acting. He drew praise for handling intricate fight choreography and tightly synchronized ensemble dance routines.

After the final performance, Youngbin said through his agency, “This was my first musical, so I have some regrets, but I was able to finish the run thanks to everyone’s help and the audience’s support,” adding, “I focused on stamina and maintaining my condition so I could fully inhabit the character.”

Having completed a successful musical debut, Youngbin will rejoin SF9 and resume group activities. SF9 plans to release a Japanese special album titled \”About Love\” on June 24 and will hold fan meetings in Osaka on the 27th and in Tokyo on the 30th.
