[SPOTV News = Reporter Kim Won-gyeom] The Korea Popular Music Culture Promotion Association (the Association), long seen as a cornerstone of Korean rock, will present “K-Band: Spread Your Wings Vol. 7” on June 13. The concert will take place in the underground performance hall of the Korea Music Copyright Association on Gonghang-daero in Seoul’s Gangseo District.

The seventh edition of the event, aimed at reviving Korea’s band scene, features a mix of established and emerging acts: Wi Il-cheong, known for his work with Seoul Family; rising female vocalist Seomi; the legendary group-sound band The Devils; veteran rockers Gongjungjeonhwa; and Sunset on the Bridge.

A highlight of the night will be a rare collaboration: The Devils, Wi Il-cheong and Seomi sharing the same stage. Wi Il-cheong and Seomi will perform a duet for the first time, delivering “Ijene” (“Now”), a hit from Wi Il-cheong’s Seoul Family era.

The concert will also serve as a platform for new music. The Devils will introduce “Yeongjongdo Haneulmun” (“Yeongjongdo Sky Gate”), Sunset on the Bridge will present their EP “Casual,” Seomi will release “Gakbang Bubu” (“Couples in Separate Rooms”), and Gongjungjeonhwa will debut “Geuriwoon Neoui Ireum (Peaceful Bird)” (“The Name I Miss — Bird of Peace”).

The Devils formed in 1968 as a brass-soul band. Once hailed as the “kings of soul” in Korea, the ten-member ensemble remains an energetic live presence.

Seomi, a former model turned singer, recently demonstrated her vocal chops with five consecutive wins on TBS’s “Choi Il-gu’s Hurricane Radio.”

Sunset on the Bridge builds its sound on vintage rock, combining evocative melodies and narrative songwriting so each track unfolds like a short story.

Gongjungjeonhwa, a skilled rock band active since 1988, has attracted attention with its first new single in three years, “Geuriwoon Neoui Ireum (Peaceful Bird).” Reorganized as a trio with guest vocalists, the group released the track as its first digital single. The song channels retro sensibilities while expressing a yearning for love, forgiveness and peace, and it carries an unexpected twist in its arrangement.

Association chairman Ju Yong-won said, “This concert is hosted and organized by the Korea Popular Music Culture Promotion Association, with support from the Korea Music Copyright Association and the Korea Music Performers’ Union. The experimental spirit of band culture is the foundation of today’s K-pop. We are deeply grateful to our main sponsor, global fashion mall APM, for its ongoing support to revitalize Korean bands.”

The Association noted that while the concert is primarily intended for supporting members, non-members interested in attending should contact the Korea Popular Music Culture Promotion Association or visit its website for information.
