IVE’s Rei and Monsta X’s Hyungwon returned as hosts of the Asia Star Entertainer Awards (ASEA) for a second consecutive year, delivering polished performances and even taking home awards.
They appeared at the ASIA STAR ENTERTAINER AWARDS 2026 (ASEA 2026) at Belluna Dome in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, on the 16th. As first-day hosts, Rei and Hyungwon presented a fresh, refined pairing—Rei in a white dress and Hyungwon in a white tuxedo—and later turned heads in the ceremony’s second half when Rei changed into a pink gown and Hyungwon into a black suit.
Rei, who drew attention as ASEA’s MC last year, guided this year’s program with increased poise and polish. Her easy chemistry with Hyungwon lifted the evening’s mood, and her warm smile and buoyant energy earned enthusiastic responses from the crowd.
Her presence stood out again during artist-seat interviews. With quick-witted reactions and a relaxed demeanor, she kept conversations lively across a range of performers and smoothly switched between Korean and Japanese to maintain clear communication.
That night Rei did more than host: as an IVE member she marked a milestone. IVE won the main \”The Platinum\” award for a second straight year, reaffirming the group’s global reach and enduring popularity.
Hyungwon also captured international attention with his steady hosting and commanding presence. He kept the ceremony moving with calm, sharp delivery and injected witty moments that sustained audience engagement.
He added further meaning by accepting the Top Touring Artist award on behalf of Monsta X. Currently on their world tour \”THE X : NEXUS,\” Monsta X is performing across the globe, and winning the award while actively engaging with global Monbebe—the group’s official fan club—made the moment especially significant.
