[Sports Today reporter Kwon Gwang-il] The Korea Online Press Photographers Association (KOPA), chaired by Kim Han-jun, presented the 2026 KOPA & NIKON Press Photo Awards, sponsored by Nikon Imaging Korea under CEO Jeong Hae-hwan. The ceremony was held on May 18 at the Riviera Hotel in Seoul’s Cheongdam-dong neighborhood.
Attendees included KOPA Chairman Kim Han-jun and Vice Chairman Paeng Hyun-jun, Nikon Imaging Korea CEO Jeong Hae-hwan, and aespa member Karina. Comedian Yoo Jae-pil emceed the event.
The awards considered every photograph KOPA members captured in the field over the past year.
All member organizations voted across the photogenic, sports and entertainment categories. Winners were chosen for work that stood out over the last year. Sports Today’s Paeng Hyun-jun took the top sports prize, while Han Hyuk-seung of MyDaily received the sports excellence award. TV Daily’s Ahn Seong-hoo earned the top entertainment award, and Kim Han-jun of Xports News won the entertainment excellence prize. The photogenic award went to Park Se-wan of JTBC Enter News for her portrait of aespa’s Karina.
