[Sports Today reporter Kwon Gwang-il] The Korea Online Press Photographers Association (KOPA), chaired by Kim Han-joon, hosted the 2026 KOPA & NIKON Press Photo Awards on the afternoon of May 18 at the Riviera Hotel in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul. Nikon Imaging Korea, led by CEO Jeong Hae-hwan, sponsored the ceremony.
The event drew attendees including KOPA President Kim Han-joon, Vice President Paeng Hyun-jun, Nikon Imaging Korea CEO Jeong Hae-hwan and aespa member Karina. Comedian Yoo Jae-pil served as emcee.
The KOPA & NIKON Press Photo Awards considered every photograph KOPA members captured in the field over the past year.
Winners were selected across the photogenic, sports and entertainment categories by a vote of KOPA member organizations, honoring the photographers whose work stood out during the previous 12 months. This year’s journalist awards went to: Paeng Hyun-jun of Sports Today (Best, Sports); Han Hyuk-seung of MyDaily (Excellence, Sports); Ahn Seong-hoo of TV Daily (Best, Entertainment); Kim Han-joon of Xportsnews (Excellence, Entertainment); and Park Se-wan of JTBC Enter News, who won the photogenic award for her photo of aespa’s Karina.
