[Sports Today reporter Kwon Kwang-il] The 2026 KOPA & NIKON Press Photo Awards, organized by the Korea Online Press Photographers Association (KOPA; president Kim Han-jun) and sponsored by Nikon Imaging Korea (CEO Jung Hae-hwan), were held on the afternoon of May 18 at the Riviera Hotel in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul.
The ceremony was attended by KOPA president Kim Han-jun and vice president Paeng Hyun-joon, Nikon Imaging Korea CEO Jung Hae-hwan, and Karina of K-pop group aespa. Comedian Yoo Jae-pil served as the host.
The KOPA & NIKON Press Photo Awards consider every photograph KOPA members captured in the field over the previous year.
Judged across photogenic, sports and entertainment categories, winners were selected by votes from member companies. This year’s reporter awards honored Paeng Hyun-joon of Sports Today (Top Prize, Sports); Han Hyuk-seung of MyDaily (Excellence Award, Sports); Ahn Seong-hoo of TV Daily (Top Prize, Entertainment); Kim Han-jun of XportsNews (Excellence Award, Entertainment); and Park Se-wan of JTBC Enter News, who won the photogenic category for a portrait of aespa’s Karina.
