10th Anniversary: Lotte Concert Hall Transforms Stage into Wellness Space with Unique Yoga Experience

Lotte Concert Hall marked its 10th anniversary with an inventive program that transformed its performance stage into a wellness space.

On the morning of May 16, the hall teamed up with global sportswear brand On to present “Win With Her: Yoga, Singing Bowl.” Rather than watching from the seats, participants were invited onto the concert hall stage to practice yoga and take part in a singing-bowl sound bath.

35 people were invited, including members of the Lotte Concert Hall Vineyard membership and customers of On. For one day, the stage normally reserved for performers was opened so guests could experience the venue from a different perspective.

The event was split into two sessions. The first was a flow-based yoga class on mats laid out across the stage, emphasizing foundational poses. In the second session, participants donned blindfolds, lay back on the stage, and experienced a roughly 20-minute singing-bowl sound bath.

The hall made use of its acoustic design—created for classical performances—to enhance the bowls’ resonance. Both crystal and Tibetan bowls were used to produce tones across multiple registers. Highlighting the venue’s natural reverberation and sense of space, rather than the confined acoustics of a typical studio, was central to the program.

Attendees said the singing bowls sounded richer and more nuanced inside the concert hall. Many noted the novelty of standing on a stage they usually viewed from the audience and appreciated the opportunity to relax in the heart of the city.

After the sessions, participants received the 2016 album of the hall’s opening performance and 10th-anniversary merchandise.

A Lotte Concert Hall representative said the event was intended as a special thank-you to members who have supported the venue over the past decade and that the hall plans to expand these kinds of experiential programs going forward.
