Forward-looking design, emphasis on bespoke construction

HC25. By Kwon Je-in, Herald Economy Ferrari unveiled its new one-off model, the HC25, on May 18 through its Special Projects program, which creates bespoke cars for individual clients. Built on the non-hybrid, mid-rear V8 F8 Spider open-top, the HC25 is intended to signal Ferrari’s design direction going forward.

Ferrari revealed the HC25 for the first time at its “Ferrari Racing Day” event at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. The Ferrari Styling Center, led by Flavio Manzoni, was responsible for the car’s design.

The HC25 is developed on the F8 Spider’s chassis, layout and mid-rear V8 architecture. It presents a contemporary reinterpretation of the F8 Spider’s legacy as the last open-top model powered by a non-hybrid turbo V8.

The design stresses a forward-looking aesthetic. The body uses a two-volume layout with a black band running down the center to link front and rear. That band is more than a styling cue: it serves as the radiator air intake and the heat-extraction channel.

Along the flanks, arrow-shaped lines underscore a sense of motion. The door handles sit flush within an aluminum-blade structure to enhance visual unity. Designers reduced the glazed area and lowered the shoulder line to create a sleeker profile.

Lighting has been reworked as well: ultra-slim headlamps and vertically stacked daytime running lights (DRLs) with boomerang-shaped graphics reinforce the car’s futuristic character.

The exterior is finished in a matte “Moonlight Grey,” contrasted by a glossy black band to enhance sculptural depth. Inside, gray-toned materials are paired with yellow accents for a cohesive cabin theme.

The wheels feature a five-spoke layout with diamond-cut rims and dual-groove detailing. Ferrari says the HC25 both celebrates the finale of the iconic mid-rear V8 platform and acts as a bridge to its next-generation flagships—the forthcoming 12-cylinder model and the F80.
