Sony Korea announced on May 20 that it will launch the 1000X THE COLLEXION, a premium wireless noise-canceling headphone meant to deliver an elevated listening experience and mark the 10th anniversary of the 1000X series.
Celebrating a decade of the 1000X line, the 1000X THE COLLEXION distills Sony’s audio heritage into a single flagship model. Its design, finished with premium materials and meticulous craftsmanship, represents the apex of Sony headphone styling. The headband contrasts stainless steel with a soft, leather-textured material to convey understated luxury and a tactile, layered finish. The model will be available in two colors: modern Platinum and sleek Black.
To chase peak sound quality, Sony pairs newly developed custom drivers with the HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3 and the integrated V3 processor. The drivers employ a high-rigidity carbon-dome structure to separate instruments and vocals with clarity, rendering delicate highs and a pronounced sense of space. For precise tuning, Sony collaborated with Grammy-winning mastering engineers from around the world.
Press the listening mode button to switch among three settings that upmix music, film, and game content into immersive 360 spatial sound (360 Reality Audio Upmix). For the first time in the 1000X series, Sony brings its AI-based upscaling technology, DSEE Ultimate — previously exclusive to premium Walkman models — to restore detail lost in compression in real time. LDAC support enables high-resolution audio over wireless connections.
The 1000X THE COLLEXION delivers robust noise cancellation through a multi-noise sensor array of 12 microphones and adaptive optimization technology. It offers up to 24 hours of battery life. Sony lists the price at 919,000 KRW (approximately 689.25 USD).
The 1000X THE COLLEXION will go on sale May 21 through Sony’s online store, the Naver Brand Store, the Sony Store Apgujeong in Seoul, and other official Sony Korea online and brick-and-mortar retailers.
