No More Ticket Scrambles? Spotify Is Reserving Seats for Top Fans

[Digital Today AI Reporter] Spotify is launching Reserved, a new service that identifies an artist’s most devoted fans and reserves two concert tickets for them ahead of public sales.

Engadget reported on the 21st that Spotify will begin the rollout in the U.S. and expand to international markets in stages. By partnering with major promoters and debuting its own AI app, the company is building a data-driven, personalized entertainment ecosystem. The program’s goal is to offer a dedicated pre-sale window before general ticket sales, sparing fans the usual scramble and verification-code headaches.

The Reserved feature will be limited to active Premium subscribers aged 18 and over. Spotify says it will analyze listening data—streaming history, sharing habits and other in-app activity—to identify genuine fans. It will also monitor accounts to ensure Premium subscriptions are being used by real people, not bots, as part of efforts to block automated scalpers.

Selected fans will be notified by email and in-app alerts and given access to a short, dedicated purchase window—typically about a day. Offers will generally go to fans in cities on a tour route, but those chosen may buy tickets for any date on that tour. Demand is expected to far exceed supply, so not every fan will get a chance.

To secure inventory, Spotify has signed a multi-year deal with Live Nation, the largest concert promoter in the U.S.
