[TV Daily reporter Choi Hana] K-pop group BTS has kicked off the North American leg of its \”BTS WORLD TOUR ARIRANG IN NORTH AMERICA\” in Tampa.

The band staged concerts at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on the 25th, 26th and 28th (local time). They are scheduled to perform a total of 31 shows across 12 North American cities, including El Paso, Mexico City and New York.

This U.S. run marks the group’s first full-group concerts since their April 2022 performances in Las Vegas — nearly four years. Strong demand sold out every date, and organizers added extra performances in several cities, including Tampa and Las Vegas.

Tampa, the tour’s first North American stop, welcomed the group with citywide celebrations. Mayor Jane Castor posted social media footage showing the old city hall bathed in purple light, and the city’s main bridges will remain illuminated in purple through the 29th. Tampa International Airport has also displayed welcome messages in its main terminal as part of the city’s broad reception.

Local outlets have shown intense interest. FOX 13 Tampa Bay aired a special examining BTS and K-pop’s global influence, and 10 Tampa Bay News estimated the concerts could generate roughly $800 million to $900 million in economic impact for the region (about 1.2–1.3 trillion KRW).

After the Tampa dates, BTS will continue the tour at El Paso’s Sun Bowl Stadium on May 2–3. The group will be the first Korean act to headline a solo concert at that venue.
