[SPOTV News = Reporter Heo Nawon] Andy Park, the visual development director at Marvel Studios, has left the company after 16 years.

On the 21st (Korea time), Park announced his departure on social media, posting a message titled \”Marvel Visual Development Department: 2010–2026.\”

He rose to prominence as Marvel Studios’ first and only Korean head of visual development.

“The journey from 2010 to 2026 marks the end of an era,” Park wrote, saying he helped launch a team that challenged Hollywood conventions and contributed to the studio’s growth.

Over more than 16 years, he worked on over 40 films and series and served as visual development director or supervisor on 15 of those projects. He called it a lifetime honor to work with, lead, and personally recruit some of the entertainment industry’s top artists.

Park said he is proud to have been part of the department’s entire history and that he looks forward to a new start.

International outlets report that Park’s exit appears to be part of Disney’s restructuring.

The Wall Street Journal reported on the 8th (local time) that Disney plans to cut up to 1,000 jobs within weeks. The Marvel visual development team that included Park is reportedly being disbanded, a move that has raised concern among Marvel fans.

After Bob Iger returned as CEO in 2022 and launched a broad restructuring, Disney eliminated more than 8,000 positions.

Park has served as visual director across Marvel Studios’ major titles, including Avengers: Endgame; the Avengers series; Captain America; Thor; Ant-Man; all Guardians of the Galaxy films; Captain Marvel; and Black Panther.
